Be Inspired

Meet Andres

@TravelWithPapi

Tell us how you got started.

I have been travelling since I was young. Thanks to my parents I was able to experience visiting many places. They were the type of parents that never left their kids with a friend or family member when they travelled. So having that early experience was the spark to my travel bug.

How does travelling make you feel?

Happy!! I love being able to switch my environment whenever I can. It’s refreshing to visit a different part of the world and to get a taste of a different culture. I always come back feeling inspired and stronger when travelling.

Where did you receive your 1st passport stamp?

My first stamp would be St. Kitts & Nevis from what I was told I was 6 months old when I got it lol!

Other than your passport what is one thing you can not travel without.

This answer always changes lol but other than the basic toiletries, if I was to choose I’d say my phone. With my phone, I’m able to take pictures and videos for memories, call or text anyone in an emergency, and even use it as a map (which has saved me so many times. lol)

A time something went wrong while travelling and how was it resolved?

Luckily for me nothing has ever gone wrong when travelling, luck has been on my side. The only issue that I can recall is when I was going to the states the American officer didn’t believe I was driving 16 hours to Atlanta to visit family (SMH), so he searched my car and found nothing and let me go. Other than that my travels have been pretty smooth.

Describe to us your ideal travel companion.

My ideal travel companion is someone that shares the same interest as I do when it comes to travelling. I’m not the typical stay in and do nothing traveller, I really like to explore and get lost so if I can travel with someone that can share the same interest with me, that would be my ideal travel companion.

Have you ever traveled solo? If so, where to? Is solo travel your preference?

I haven’t traveled solo as much, but I’ve been to Mexico and New York City. I plan to do a bit more solo travelling in the future though.

Advice to new travelers travelling internationally.

Always use your common sense, and always remember living condition will be different to what you’re accustomed to, so always keep that in mind. Show a bit of effort and respect for others culture.

What do the words Crowned And Cultured mean to you?

When I hear that I feel like a king that has been able to visit other places in the world,  and also fortunate to know and understand many cultures.
