Meet Queenie
@FlyWithQueenie
Tell us how you got started.
I got started with traveling at a young age because my family is Jamaican, so I would go back and fourth. I also lived there, so that’s what initially sparked my traveling interest.
How does traveling make you feel?
Traveling makes me feel happiness, and at peace. I feel like I’m on cloud nine from the moment I’m on the way to the airport, to the moment I leave. It’s the best feeling ever!
Where did you receive your first passport stamp?
My first passport stamp was to Jamaica. BLAAAAAP BLAAAAAAAAAAAP! (sorry im extra lmao)
Was there a time something went wrong while traveling? How was it resolved?
I was in London. They do their itinerary in army time, and I totally forgot. I kept thinking my flight left at 5PM the following day but it actually left at 5AM (if it was 5PM it would have said 17:00 since they use army time), so I missed my flight and had to pay $800 for a new ticket that day to head back home. That really hurt my pockets….reading is fundamental guys! LOL
Other than your passport, what is one thing you cannot travel without?
I cannot travel without my bae…my Canon 70D camera! Phone cameras are cool, but I think the quality of a camera for me is the best.
Describe to us your ideal travel companion.
My idea travel companion is open minded, spontaneous, and willing to conquer fears…if you can have all three of those qualities then your PERFECT to travel with!
Have you ever traveled solo? If so, where to? Is solo travel your preference?
I traveled solo to London. It was cool, but solo travel isn’t my thing. I’m an introvert when I’m by myself, and extroverted when im around friends/people I feel comfortable around. I also love creating memories with someone else so we can both look back at our adventures and talk and laugh about it.
What advice would you give to new travelers traveling internationally?
If you’re a new traveler traveling internationally, use precaution as you would at home. If you have a bad gut feeling about something, then go with your gut. Never give out too much information. Invest in an anti-theft book bag or wear your belongings at your side or in front of you. Scan your passport. Use a safe. Make sure you now what kinds of food you allergic to. Give someone back home your hotel information and contact information.
What do the words Crowned and Cultured mean to you?
Crowned and Cultured means knowing your worth and being confident, while being open to humanity.
